The Driver

Born in 1968, Ramon has always shown a racing tendency. Unable to drive at the speed limit from an early age he has decided to take up racing to help cure his addiction to speed.

He enjoys the class and in the 97/98 season got to represent Wellington in the Streetstock teams racing, coming in second to Rotorua at an Auckland invitational meet. He got to represent Wellington again in 2002/03 season against Hawkes Bay.

He was the 98/99 Wellington Streetstock Champion, a title he got thanks to threatening the car!
During the earlier part of the 98/99 season he had a bad run of break downs, misfiring engine and small tangles on the track that crippled the car. It was so bad that we were having more DNF's than finishes.
One time while fixing it, he said that if it broke down once more he would cut it up and start a new car. It worked because for the next half season the worst we had to do at the track was replace a tyre!

The Team

Five people have assisted over the past year and are helping this year also. In no particular order they are:

Peter: This is the man who built, repaired and finally killed the first car (a lowly Triumph 2000). He has since become cheif lap scorer, but still finds time to give moral support.

Nick: Helps out in the pits.

Andrew: Helps in the pits. He is also the webmaster.

Cathie: Lends a helping hand in the pits.

Margaret. Helps in the pits, fills the water bottles and gives moral support.
